This year’s Encounters South African International Documentary Festival  is excited to announce the first international documentaries that have been confirmed.

Six young stars will have the chance to shine in the South African premiere of hit Tony Award-winning musical KINKY BOOTS. Presented by Eric Abraham and The Fugard Theatre, a brand new, original production of this huge-hearted musical will run at The Fugard Theatre from 11 June 2019.

Mama runs until Saturday 13 April at the Artscape. Mama (portrayed by Chenal Kock and directed by Jeremeo Le Cordeur) is a character piece, showcased through poetry and physical theatre, that focuses on the Afrikaaps dialect. Menán van Heerden chats to Chenal and Jeremeo to find out more.
