Empatheatre’s electrifying and highly acclaimed Isidlamlilo/The Fire Eater a one-woman show brought to life by Mpume Mthombeni and theatre-maker Neil Coppen, comes to the Baxter Flipside from 9 to 19 April 2025, at 19:30 with matinees at 14:00.

The highly anticipated Tony Award-winning A doll’s house, part 2 with Bianca Amato and Zane Meas comes to the Baxter Studio from 16 April to 10 May.

The Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards, often referred to as the "Oscars" of Cape Town’s theatre industry, celebrated their 60th year in spectacular fashion at a glamorous ceremony at DHL Cape Town Stadium on Sunday, 23 March. Winners across 23 categories were honoured for their outstanding contributions to the performing arts, both on and off the stage.

The panel of judges for the 60th Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards, sponsored by Heineken Beverages, has announced the recipients of the 2025 special awards ahead of the highly anticipated ceremony at Cape Town Stadium on Sunday, 23 March.

"Twee vroue, beide getraumatiseerd, wat mekaar heel maak. Annie verduidelik op ’n stadium dat taal vir die brein is soos lig vir die oë, en ek hoop dat die ervaring van Annie+Helen mense se binnestes sal ligter maak."

Sy verhoogstukke het stem gegee aan die stryd van gemarginaliseerdes en het die onderdrukkende apartheidsregime tot verantwoording geroep.

Life and times of Michael K is a literary masterpiece by JM Coetzee. The stage adaptation, created by Lara Foot and the Baxter Theatre in collaboration with the Handspring Puppet Company, will have a run at the Market Theatre from 27 March to 13 April 2025.

Thirty years after its premiere and following on from its resounding success, William Kentridge and Handspring Puppet Company re-unite to present Faustus in Africa! at The Baxter from 26 February to 22 March 2025. This collaboration is a re-working of their multi-award-winning 1995 production of the same name, directed by Kentridge, with design and puppet-mastery by Handspring Puppet Company and Lara Foot as associate director.
