Stellenbosch Craft Drinks Festival – 7 October 2023

Jan Marais Nature Reserve in Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch Craft Drinks Festival returns to the annual events calendar on 7 October 2023 in the scenic Jan Marais Nature Reserve. Opening its gates at 11:00 and promising a day filled with the best in craft beer, distilled beverages (non-alcoholic options are available), artisanal food options and live music to keep your foot tapping and your head bopping until 19:00, just in time to see the sun set over the gorgeous Stellenbosch mountains.

The SCDF in its latest format, aims to offer an intimate outdoor experience of fine locally crafted beverages (spirits, liqueurs, ciders, beer and more) paired with quality street food. Enveloped in the beautiful natural surroundings of the centrally located Jan Marais Nature Reserve, visitors are encouraged to take a stroll through the park on route to the festival area. Narrated by the soothing sounds of talented local musicians, patrons can look forward to classic pop/rock covers, original Afrikaans compositions, reggae, and smooth jazz. Vendors encourage you to enjoy yourself with the offering of good products, product samples fun games and competitions with some crafty prizes.

The event is family friendly and children under 12 enter for free, there will also be an inflatable games area and play park available for the younger crowd. So, bring your family, fur babies, friends, umbrellas, and sun hats and join us for a chill day in the Winelands, courtesy of the SCDF. Our annual beer glasses are a favourite for collectors and available as part of your entry fee or if you opt to not include it, you are welcome to bring your favourite glass from home.

Some things to look out for: 9 Orphan’s Distillery – Turksvy Gin & Eikesap Gin (inspired by the Eikestad and made with real acorns.); Rocco Torro – Agave spirits are offering free Rocco Torro minis to anyone turning 21 in 2023 – bring your ID and claim your prize! Pot & Scot – locally crafted beer and cider, with a smooth, approachable flavour for the newcomer or the beer connoisseur. Non-alcoholic: Mahala botanicals, Everson’s Cider, Dragon Ginger and more!

Live music by The Gingers, Ignite ZA, Van Der Aven, Yndian Mynah and more to be confirmed.
