The UN human rights chief says it, the Spanish PM says it, the mayor of Amsterdam says it, the tide of global opinion is turning in the face of an undeniable and ongoing series of atrocities, even Trump recognized Gazan civilians are being starved and killed, however self-interested and nuts his own motives are, but here in SA a phalanx of self-important and morally challenged commentators, politicians, journalists and leaders still want to convince you your government is siding with the wrong people, that your universities are not places where outrage about the massacre of children and annihilation of a society and a people should be expressed (you can’t offend your funders, but you can grandstand your commitment to “transformation” ad nauseum in one PR campaign after another), and that we should appease oppressors and, frankly, mass murderers.
