The aim of 42 (the book) is to fill the need for a single book containing the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything (the title alludes to the 1979 Douglas Adams novel The hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy, in which the supercomputer Deep Thought, after seven and a half millions years of calculating, determines the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything, as the number 42).
