Jo Els used to be a magistrate in a small Karoo town. He has since retired and is now willing to share some of the highs and lows of his days on the bench.
His journey and his story are also deeply personal. He used to have a terrible stutter, and today he can hold his own as a storyteller next to a Karoo fire.
This is his story, told under the Karoo sky, during the Etienne van Heerden Veldsoirée.
