During this concert patrons will be introduced to seven of the eight BTE VO1SS Artists and ten trainees from VO1SS Academy previously known as the Incubator Scheme. Unfortunately the soprano Brenda Thulo will not be able to participate at this concert as she is in Cape Town preparing for The Fairy-Queen, by Henry Purcell, production. This concert is the first of four Sunday Morning Concerts in the 2012 series.
The programme will include arias, duets and trios from Don Giovanni, Faust, Don Pasquale, La Traviata, Le Nozze di Figaro, Tannhäuser and new repertoire promising to mesmerize the audience. The seven BTE VO1SS artists are: Caroline Modiba (soprano), Caroline Nkwe (soprano), Bongani Makhanya (tenor), Khotso Tšekeletsa (tenor), Phenye Modiane (tenor), Dikgang Mantoro (baritone) and Christopher Vale (baritone). Susan Steenkamp-Swanepoel, Music manager of BTE VO1SS will accompany the singers.

The tickets prices of R 80 (general admission) and R 60 (pensioners) are specifically kept at affordable level to encourage opera lovers to attend and to further audience development. Programmes are available at R5 per programme. There is safe and secure parking available at the SA State Theatre at R13 per vehicle with direct access into the auditorium. Bookings are open at Computicket.
This is Sunday morning entertainment at its best and patrons can enjoy homemade cakes, coffee, tea and cold drinks before and after the hour-long concert.
