If you’re calling these people “stupid” and “selfish” then you’re speaking from a place of privilege, because they only got paid today so there wasn’t money to buy the things they’ll need for the lockdown beforehand.
They aren’t “panic buying” (we don’t have MONEY to panic buy) they getting the essential things, while you were stocking up on toilet paper and buying almost everything in Makro, we were at work trying to make ends meet.
Also if you’re from Mitchell’s Plain, like me, you’ll know that the town centre and the malls are always packed to capacity, because we cater for various communities, so stop acting like this isn’t normal.
I get that you’re scared, I get it, but don’t let your privilege blind you.
