Emile Joubert writes on Facebook:
One of the great sights in world literature. Obelix whacking a Roman soldier.
Note the deft, nonchalant ease of the hit, the brisk follow-through of the right hand while the left is at ease, perching on the massive boar-filled girth.
Note the Roman’s feet, crooked toes ascending into the heavens with the rest of him while the sandals remain behind, neatly bound.
Note the expression of professional disdain on the face of Obelix, almost laughing at the cheek, audacity of the Roman’s wishing to conquer Gaul.
Albert Uderzo, you will always be a master.
