Wim Vorster writes on Facebook:
The South African theatre industry has lost one of its main personalities. Unsung hero(ine). The backbone, the lifeline, the flesh and blood of The Standard Bank Grahamstown Festival for decades. Even after she retired as General Manager or CEO or chief cook and bottle washer she still remained on the staff. Her door was always open to everyone. Her smile and her warmth always readily available.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
This is an immeasurable loss both on a personal level and for the entire industry.
You will be sorely missed. Lynette Marais.
