Press release: Join a philosophy café on a Greek island

  • 0

The philosopher Socrates famously said that the unexamined life was not worth living. But what makes for an examined life? Join us in the beautiful port village of Molyvos on the Greek island Lesvos for a week-long course devoted to this question.

You will explore different aspects of being human: thinking and knowing, being a self, being sick and being healthy, our relationship to art and language, the good life, and why any of this matters.

The Philosophy Café focuses on conversation rather than formal lectures. Conversations will be facilitated by philosophers Vasti Roodt and Isabelle Wienand, who are experienced in bringing philosophical thinking to a wider audience.

Expect a week of stimulating discussion that will challenge you to think about life, yourself and the world in new ways. The course is for anyone interested in the examined life and does not require any background in philosophy.
