The announcement of the Boeke Prize winner for 2013. The winning book was the judges’ favourite title for 2013 from the Exclusive Recommends campaign. The September Book of the Month, Mr Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan, was voted the best read of the year out of eight fantastic titles by the judges. The winner of the Reader’s Choice for Boeke 2013 was The Shining Girls by local author Lauren Beukes.
