You are hereby cordially invited to the opening of the exhibition “5 Solo’s” at theARTbusiness in Piketberg. The exhibition opens on Saturday 15 December 2012 at 18:30 and will run until 28 January 2013.

I am a conservationist and artist. What drives my artistic process is a passion for conservation and appreciation of the land and all it supports, including me.
- Annelie Venter – “Vel(d)”
For this exhibition I wanted to explore the 'skin' of the (Sandveld) earth in all its variety and the “kinship” of everything seen.
- Aidon Westcott – “Art(i)Fact”
A sheet of newsprint or the pasted-together pages of old journals, documents and hand written letters gives Aidon Westcott both the physical base and conceptual starting point for his evocative mixed media artworks.
The collages are filled with symbolic imagery aimed at awaking stifled memories out of the echo chambers of one’s subconscious mind.
- Judy Bumstead – “Inside Out”
The Klein Karoo is a biodiversity hotspot and we live on a hilltop which was established as a plant sanctuary in 1992 by a reluctant farmer. Much of my work is concerned with the veld.
