The Booksellers’ Choice Award is chosen and presented by the South African book trade in
recognition of outstanding contribution to the industry. It is awarded to the book that
booksellers across South Africa have enjoyed reading, selling or promoting during the
previous year and celebrates the excellence and high standard of South African writing.
Nielsen is proud to announce this year’s shortlist:
This year we have added an additional stage and the shortlist of eight titles has been
submitted to booksellers so they can choose the winner! This second opportunity to vote
gave South African Booksellers (members of SABA) the opportunity to have their say about
which book has had the most impact on their sales during 2012.
The winner will be announced at the Publishers Association and Booksellers Association
joint Conference in August.
