“She has great talent and a long career ahead of her” – Ard Matthews.
“She is, simply put, the complete package.” – David Foster (The Month)
“I believe Natasha is destined for greatness” – Jimmy Thomas (Ike & Tina Turner)
Natasha Meister is a Canadian born, award winning prodigy singer/songwriter who has been dubbed "The Meister" by local and international fans. To credit her name, Natasha Meister is the only woman in Africa who is endorsed by both Fender (USA) and Lakewood (Germany) guitar makers.
“What Goes Around” is a 5 track EP that will be released in June 2014 as a warm up to a full length release in 2015. The EP was produced by the legendary Theo Crous from Bellville Studios and consists of two brand new tracks and three reprised versions of songs taken from Natasha's debut album Half Way. Natasha comments on the new tracks: “The first single on the EP, “I Hope You Know” is something totally different to my former music. It is a pop/rock song and lyrically it’s cheeky. It is about a relationship that didn’t end so well. The second new song “Shadows” is personally my favourite one. This track is a reference to good and evil and an inner fight to choose a side. This song will give fans a good idea of what’s to come on the full album.”
The three songs Natasha chose to redo acoustically from her first album are more emotional and mellow. “They’re about letting go of past heartbreaks and letting go of the old me. I wanted to give my fans rawer versions of some of my old songs because I wanted them to connect better with my lyrics, just guitar and voice, which I feel finally serves the songs justice … the way they were meant to be heard.”
Natasha performs both as a solo artist as well as with her trio called: Natasha Meister Band. Recently joined by drummer Lance Rhoda, who has performed with the likes of Danny K, Loyiso and David Kramer as well as renowned bass player Revaughn Sackanary who has worked with national and international artists with various exciting outfits.
Natasha released her debut album Half Way in April 2012, with the single "Safe In The Silence" making it's mark in the SA scene both on national radio and television. Some of the tracks off this first album have also been playlisted in various parts the world – including: Canada, Australia and the USA. She caught the attention of international superstar Daniel Bedingfield, who insisted that she join him to collaborate in late 2012 for his South African tour.
