Love Wrecked

All our pictures
All our poems
Don’t think they ever knew
what love is when it’s true

Take down photos, erase memories
leave my year now marked with empties
Our castle of dreams we built by hand
now I see it was only sand

PRE-CHORUS:
I know there’s others just like me
Hearts crushed
like a car wrapped around a tree

CHORUS:
Was I wrong or was I right
to give my all for that last fight?
Were we never meant to be
more than a mere memory?
You bottled all our love
and dumped it in the sea

Yesterday no mountain could keep you away
today no ocean of my tears could drag you back this way
What lies then did your heart speak
to make your heart fall into this deceit?

So it all came to this
a time I wish I’ll never miss
And now all I want to know
Why did our sprout fail to grow?

PRE-CHORUS

CHORUS

God, I know Your love stays true
but can’t we humans learn from you?
We never mean for it to die
but to ourselves we always lie
Falling in love brings us to a sweet place
but then leaves us with a bitter taste

PRE-CHORUS

CHORUS (x2)

Is it only true in fairytales?
Because to me it always fails
