The Italian string ensemble, Trio Broz, will perform in the Enoch Sontonga Hall at Unisa on Saturday 11 May at 18:00
The group consists of siblings Barbara Broz who is the violinist, Giada the violist and Klaus the cellist.
All three musicians studied in Italy and in Austria at the prestigious Mozarteum in Salzburg. Their concert performances include more than 500 performances in Italy, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Balkans, Mexico, Zimbabwe, the USA, China and South Africa.
They prefer to perform from memory, a phenomenon not often seen on local stages.
The programme consists of a movement from the Satz-Trio, D471 by Schubert, the Trio in G major, Op 9 no 1 by Beethoven, the Trio in G minor by Sibelius and a work dedicated to the trio by the Latin-American composer Luis Bacalov: Trio per archi.
Since the trio has been playing together for 20 years, the audience can expect a performance where the musicians are tuned in perfectly to each other.
Tickets for the concert are sold at the door for R90 (adults) and R70 (students and pensioners).
