"It was Here" by Jean de la Hunt

It was Here

It was here, then was gone
The fleeting shadow of someone
But here I am, on my own
I’ll write the prose that cuts to the bone

All those things, got left behind
Unresolved and undefined
I tried my best, did you know?
But those troubles they did grow

CHORUS:
And there’ll be dark days once again
But I won’t rot in this shallow dream
Tomorrow I will wake, remember that first breath I take
And day one will start again

And I fell down, like your clown
And my head, made no sound
You cut my wings, and made me bleed
But my heart will find reprieve

CHORUS

And there’ll be dark days once again
Off-set by the light of Technicolor dreams
Tomorrow will give way, to another yesterday
Another day will start new then

Shattered hopes, can be replaced
And those photos you defaced
I’ll breathe that sigh, I won’t know why
And I’ll forget what we had as time goes by

As time goes by
