We would like to invite you to the double book launch of Pieter Madibuseng Odendaal’s a corpse is also a garden (uHlanga Press) and Jorge Alejandro Ccoyllurpuma's The sky blue sword of your body (TNG publishing), two translated poetry collections that bring these partnered poets’ work in conversation with each other. Odendaal’s South African collection contains a selection of his poems self-translated from the original Afrikaans, while Ccoyllurpuma debuts his Peruvian poetry in English, translated from the Spanish by Odendaal.
What do two poets, united by poetry across the ocean, have to say about our place in the world and the urgent need to transform it in our image? Come find out as they read in various languages from their work and share thoughts about the process with host Annel Pieterse.
