Fleur du Cap announces the 2011 Nominees for the prestigious Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards

The 47th annual Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards ceremony will take place at a glamorous function on Sunday 18th March at 6pm, at the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town.

The Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards is the premier event of its kind in South Africa. For more than four decades, the prestigious awards have been given to outstanding individuals for theatre excellence, specifically focusing on professional theatre productions staged in the Cape Town Metropole and surrounds, over the period of one calendar year. Each award carries a R15 000 cash prize as well as a silver medallion, making a 'Fleur du Cap' the most coveted theatre award in the industry. This year, the awards will be given in 17 different categories. The Judges are Marianne Thamm, Mariana Malan, Marina Nel, Dr. Beverley Brommert, Dr. Gabriël Botma, Peter Tromp, Len Ashton, Wayne Muller, Herman van der Westhuizen, Jill Makram, Coreen Lloyd, Gillian Mitchell, Rone Arendse, Denise Bester and Africa Melane.

The nominees in the various categories are as follows:

3. Best performace by a supporting actor in a play
