Entertainment galore at re-opening of Johannesburg City Library

The Johannesburg City Library will be officially re-opened on Tuesday 14 February 2011 after an extensive upgrade and extension process.

Members of the public are invited to come along and celebrate the unveiling of this revamped City landmark with a host of entertainment and activities that will take place outside the building from 11:00.

Introduced by world-renowned poet Lebo Mashile, the festivities will include performances by the Renalelona Drumming Group and Gumboots Dancers, Zathok Poetry, Native Theatre Drama and Lean on Me Traditional Setswana Dancers, as well as a puppet show, hip-hop dancing and a talent show.

Learners, students and Joburg residents who wish to join in the fun are welcome to attend, to celebrate the dawn of a new era of knowledge, information and learning. Members of the media and photographers are also invited.

The Johannesburg City Library is located between President, Market and Sauer streets.
