Selfs Christene het dit toegepas in die Middeleeue, met die brandstapels vir afvalliges. En in Openbaring is dit die lot van afvalliges in die eindtyd.

6. If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or
