Poetin-Poetin-Poetin. Gucci-Gucci-Gucci. Poetin-Poetin-Poetin.” In Anthea Jeffery se uiters ontstellende People’s War – New Light on the Struggle for South Africa, werp sy lig op dié sjarmante derduiwel, ʼn heetgebakerde fundamentalis.

Op p. 186 skryf Jeffery: “Said Ramaphosa: ‘The ANC will no longer tolerate the politics of murder ... De Klerk is either incompetent or totally useless and he must go.’” Terugskouend was dit nie ʼn geval van “either” vir De Klerk en sy span lamsakke nie, maar “and” ‒ op p.230: “Cyril Ramaphosa commented that the government had ‘completely collapsed’, while senior ANC negotiators told journalists they were stunned at the ease with which they had won important concessions from the NP.”

Jy, ou Judas, het blykbaar ook vir Orsini-Ambrosini vertel die ANC vat so bietjie-bietjie by die witman tot hy niks oor het nie, ‘without taking too much from them at any time to cause them to rebel or fight,’ soos die padda in die pot. The promise of a better life through EWC (expropriation without compensation) is false, however. Property rights are the key to growth, employment and prosperity, as experience around the world has repeatedly shown. In addition, at least 70 per cent of South Africa’s land reform projects since 1994 have collapsed, leaving their supposed beneficiaries no better off than before. More importantly still, land expropriated without compensation will be owned by the state, not transferred to individual black South Africans. This is the fraud at the heart of the EWC idea.”

Hiér lê nog hartseer (p.302): “Most South Africans ‒ including the great bulk of ANC members and voters ‒ have little inkling that this is the ANC’s game plan. Not all within the senior ranks of the revolutionary alliance are party to the strategy, of course, and many might disapprove of it if they understood it better. However, a small inner core of ANC and SACP leaders, helped by socialists and communists from countries across the globe, has always pursued this line of action with utter ideological ‒ and self-serving ‒ determination.”

 Ruhe in Frieden.
