Liza Aiken

Liza Aiken is a former ballet dancer with a unique one-of-a-kind tomboy personality, who calls herself “the ordinary small-town girl with big city dreams”. Get to know her a little better and you will notice there’s nothing ordinary about her. In 2016 Liza completed two short courses at ACT Cape Town, namely level 1 and level 2 Acting for Film and TV, to improve her skills and expand her knowledge about the industry. Liza has a raw talent for theatre acting, often partook in school plays and was a member of Martin Clohessy’s drama club in primary school. She draws her inspiration from locally acclaimed actors like the late Shaleen Surtie-Richards, Jill Levenberg and Denise Newman. In 2017, she was part of the SARIE Voorbladgesig Top 10, chosen out of thousands of entries. Unbeknownst to her, this led to a seven-part reality TV show on kykNET, and an interview and coverage on kykNET’s Flits and Kwêla. Her dream of being on television and in magazines became a reality! Being the ambivert she is, she constantly challenges herself to do something outside of her comfort zone. That is why she started a part-time modelling career at one of Cape Town’s leading modelling agencies, D&A Model Management, in April 2018. Liza is resilient, selfless, kind-hearted, loyal and extremely hardworking. She always gives it her all, regardless of how big or small the task at hand is. While she enjoys spending time in nature, exploring the scenic hiking trails of the Western Cape, she is also an avid baker, enjoys cooking, has a passion for photography, loves travelling, and writes poems and short stories.

"Ek onthou die dae
toe ons boomgeklim het
en ons nerwe af geval het,
die dae
toe ons nog wegkruipertjie gespeel het."
