Celia Claase

Celia’s book of philosophical essays and poetry, titled The Layers Between, was published by Proverse Hong Kong and won the 2014 International Proverse Literary Prize. Her poetry appears in the 2016 June- and forthcoming December addition of Rhodes University’s poetry journal, New Coin; the 2013 Writers Abroad anthology: Foreign and Far Away and in the 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th addition of Hong Kong Women in Publishing Society’s anthology: Imprint. A number of her memoirs was published in the online magazine www.sarie.com.

Hong Kong School Drama Festival awarded her for writing an outstanding stage script and she won third prize in a 2011 LitNet flash fiction competition.

Celia was a preliminary judge for Hong Kong Baptist University’s 2015-16 Award for Budding Poets Program; for Hong Kong Performing Artistes Association’s (Asia) 2015 Arts & Speech Competition and for the Philosopies of Peel Street Poets poetry competition in 2015. In 2014 Celia co-ordinated the Hong Kong WiPS annual Short Story Competition for Senior School Students.

She was a guest speaker for the 11th Hong Kong Literary Festival; did an authors talk for the Proverse Reader’s Club; held a talk for Women in Publishing Society and she often does poetry readings at Poetry OutLoud and Peel Street Poets in Hong Kong.

Vervaldatum-kompetisie: Geduld het ’n vervaldatum

Celia Claase 2012-05-03 Die radio-omroeper laat haar weer vanaand glimlag. Hy lees vir haar die dag se nuus en speel selfs musiek vir haar. Vir jare al is dit net hy en sy, elke aand. Sy is al so gewoond aan hom. Sy gaan hom baie mis.

Draak-sprokie-kompetisie: 21 Desember 2012

Celia Claase 2012-02-09 Amangkurat het hom vererg. Vir twee miljoen jaar al is die eiland sy blyplek, maar deesdae kom hier elke week meer mense aan. Die vissermanne wat vir ’n uur of twee hulle bote anker, kan hy nog verdra. Maar gister het ’n ma, pa en twee kinders sommer kom uitkamp op die strand.
