Dr Angelique Coetzee has held numerous chair and vice-chair positions in the SAMA on national and branch level throughout the years. She was a member of the National Ministerial Task Team on Military Hospitals in 2013 and chairperson of the Ministerial Medical Task Team on Internal and External Deployment, SANDF in 2014. She is national chair of SAMA for 2018–2021.
She was elected as vice-chair of the 1st Medical Parole Advisory Board in 2011.
Dr Coetzee has extensive knowledge of private practice and is a member of various initiatives driving primary healthcare. She has more than 30 years’ experience in private practice.
She is currently leading Pillar 5 on health service delivery of the presidential health summit.
Dr Coetzee obtained her BMedSci (1982) and MBChB at the University of Pretoria in 1985.
Her professional qualifications include, among others: Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Health Management (cum laude) FPD (2013) and Postgraduate Higher Certificate in Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigations at the Faculty of Law at the University of Johannesburg (2018).
She is currently completing her fraud examiners certificate with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
