What ever happened to the days we used to care
This is for all of you who lost kids through this violence, I know how
it feels like when you send your child to school and they never come
back, or they do cal but after being abused. You're not alone, I hope
from now on we will work together as parents to make life simple for
us and our kids. This is for you.
What ever happened to the days when we used to care,
To our children we are saying goodbye like everyday,
We are sitting back waiting to hear who’s attacked,
Yo, my brother, your kid is mine so who’s to blame,
And you know my name
(Repeat this chorus)
So you give ‘em a kiss on the cheeks, and lend em to another parent to
teach ‘em for our future, but when we are not there someone is stalking ‘em
forget the age of my baby, today you feel you weren't there for ‘em
but you know it ain't your fault, you only tried to make a better life
for your babe.
As you're listening to this track now? I know you're not
alone even if when can't see ‘em like god we know they're right there.
And to our kids, we know you may think we blame you for everything but
I'm saying right as your parents feel none of this was your mistake,
And do forget about our cries, please move up to heaven, you deserve it,
forget about our cries but do not forget about us, we will be soon coming
to heaven so smile and do wait with our angels
We love you
What ever happened to the days when we used to care,
To our children we are saying goodbye like everyday,
We are sitting back waiting to hear who’s attacked,
Yo, my brother, your kid is mine so who’s to blame,
And you know my name
(Repeat chorus again)
What with us, these criminals live with us, hurting us, yet we keep
them away from cops. What is this, how do we do things, every kid I
met in the streets I protect ‘em as if they are my own kids. We used to
care, now it’s like we all dead, used to care used to share, how come
all these crimes are committed in our communities and no one is
there, who ever heard just pretend to be asleep while they’re raping a
little girl and she's screaming you say you don't know people's businesses
but is it hers. Now aren't we to blame, was she supposed to scream
your name, it’s then you may have helped?
What ever happened to the days when we used to care,
To our children we are saying goodbye like everyday,
We are sitting back waiting to hear who’s attacked,
Yo, my brother your kid is mine so who’s to blame,
And you know my name.
(Repeat chorus again)
