"We Play God" by Marvin Smith

Taste has always been a juror
The verdict's still out
Yet for some to judge is to sin
For that's reserved for a higher power
But strangely enough to play judge is instinctive
We make choices day to day
We aspire
We perceive
We eliminate through pros and cons
We practice segregation
Though we claim to be non-racist and impartial
Yet by just making a simple choice
Having a certain preference or taste
A liking or love
We differentiate and judge upon merit
Through perspective and opinion
By choice
At our own free will
We play God
