"Water At a Distance" by Barbara Rita Barbieri

  • 0

Preferred Band/Artist: BlackByrd

A distant moonshine night ago
My body ached for water so
I saw the breaker, oh so near
My being trembled out of fear

My psyche rises to a peak
Of complete placidity
Where I become one with the elements.
Together we stand as air, water, wind and fire

The breaker glistens
As it listens to the moon's radiant smile
The ever-lasting seduction
Is ominous, but so surreal

The fear that made me tremble
Has vanished without a trace
My body cringes
At the sight of the magnanimous breaker
And descends into a deep pool
Of total oblivion
