"Water at a distance" by Barbara Rita Barbieri

Water at a distance

A distant moonshine night ago
My body ached for water so
I saw the breaker, oh so near
My being trembled out of fear

CHORUS:
My psyche rises to a peak
of complete placidity
Where I become one with the elements.
Together we stand as air, water, wind and fire

The breaker glistens
as it listens to the moons radiant smile
The ever-lasting seduction
is ominous, but so surreal

CHORUS

The fear that made me tremble
has vanished without a trace
My body cringes
at the sight of the magnanimous breaker
And descends into a deep pool
of total oblivion

CHORUS
