I got this compelling need
This urge to feed
a hunger that’s inside of me

So let me cut to the chase like a switchblade incision
I wanna talk about life in general an’ the things we face
From our successes to our mistakes
From those we love to the hearts we break
From those we've lost to the breaths we take

but the past is the past an’ what’s done is history
Though I choose to face forward an’ strive
to be the best I can be at whatever I choose to be
Knowing the future holds infinite opportunities
An’ the present is more than just the present, it’s a gift
The gift of time an’ the gift of life.
So as you walk this line, bear in mind
Time spent hating is time wasted
Life ain’t waiting so rather embrace it
Hold it so close you can almost taste it
An’ if you face it you won’t mistake it
So don’t be distressed by repressed interests
Push to progress an’ be who you are without regret
