True Story
I was made strong ‘cause every chapter of my life story ends in pain
God made me a soldier who survives in any weather
Come sunshine, stormy weather or that week-long rain
For every lesson I receive, I give out two more
Just goes to show through every struggle there's always a gain
Born with gratitude grew up fighting for my own
Now I'm blessed with an attitude that can break all chains
And if the devil comes for me, I pray to God my soul to take
But for now I'll be all I am, leave you wanting more
Almost forever you'll wait
Example: You say 2 o’clock, I say more like 4 going for 5, ending up being late
So accept me for who I am and not who you want me to be
I'm not perfect, but I'm also no fake
I should be down and out, dead and gone
No whisper, scream or even a shout
But still I see the light through that dark tunnel called my life story
Without a doubt
You'll never reach the top
unless you go and get it from the bottom
Like Meek Milly said, look at Pac
He's still up top, even though he's dead
With all the white hair Shady had
when he started out on his white head
He still made it out the gutter taking the crown
in this black game once held by the dead
So who am I to start judging myself for what I had?
Who am I to see myself never having none?
Who should look at other than myself whenever I get mad?
Through all that ever happened, all that's said and done
Why should I blame the rest of the world for me being bad?
Taking at my own pace that first big step
With every big reach the higher I climb
my past struggles, wrongdoings behind I left
And when I reach the top I’ll decide
there and then, once and for all, I'm leaving my past behind
Deciding here and now what I want
is nothing less then the best
Living my life they way I want, believing success will come my way in time
This story, truth be told, reaching for glory
No lies, true story
