Three words
Pen poised on paper
waiting for a thought to write
Hoping that by some chance or fate
these words might come out right
CHORUS:
How do I say
from many miles away
that I’m in love
with you?
Should I write in clichés?
Will you then think it’s not from the heart?
Or should I write you poetry?
Will that also not fit the part?
‘Cause the truth is I’m nervous
of how you will react
Perhaps you won’t feel the same way
Well, I just won’t think of that
Crunched up the paper
that held my hundredth thought
I can’t seem to find the words
for you that I sought
CHORUS
I finally decided on one short line
I hope that it will do
when you open up this note and read
I love you
