"Thinking Of Sounds" by Shannon Edwards

  • 0

Mostly I lay awake thinking of sounds
Do Re Mi Fa So
Until my mind's so full it drowns
And my heart's a constant glow
Tonight I'm thinking of you, my dear
I wonder if you're thinking of me
My mind doesn't think in singular form
Instead of "I" , it thinks "we"

Mostly I lay awake thinking of sounds
Your name rhymes with mine
Do we have simultaneous minds?
Will our hearts ever intertwine?
I lay in bed till all hours of the night
Sippin' tea, singing "Do Re Mi"
I avoid thinking of you with all my might
I should probably let my heart be

But some nights when I'm caught off guard
And the grass is moist with dew
I let the tears fall from my eyes
As I lay awake thinking of you.
