The news of Eusebius McKaiser’s passing is utterly devastating, and a huge loss to our country. His intellect, courage, work ethic, energy and commitment to social justice was unequalled. He challenged us as a country and individually, to think and write and reason and argue better, and to be better.
Eusebius contributed hugely to the world of books and publishing. He shared his platforms and profile to review and discuss books, and to talk to authors, and encourage readers. He was generous to me, personally, regularly inviting me onto his Literature Corner on 702 to chat about books. I loved the conversations, laughs, and book gossip.
Just last week, Eusebius was in top form in convo with Jonny Steinberg – super-prepared, incisive, brilliant, as always. It feels impossible, unbelievable, that he is gone.
My deep condolences to Ndu and to Eusebius’ family and friends. Your loss is immeasurable.
