Sanity
I’ve pulled a few fast ones
nothing to be proud of
No need to lie to yourself
I paid my dues
Like my conversations
my motive lack sense
Like my intensions
my expressions run dry
You’re welcome to walk around
and try and find yourself
Did I, or should I have
said the right thing wrong?
I know that you’re not there
And I know that I’m not prepared
At least I’m not in control
My sanity has got the best of me
CHORUS
It ain’t easy letting yourself go
It ain’t hard sticking around
Keeping a sense of sanity
takes away the lack of being in control
What I want and what you need
is not the same thing
I blew it away and turned around
hoping for something new
