Protection needed
Let the record state
that in the year 1988
days of butterflies and
blue skies, men are still
strung up upside down from
tree branches at
secluded lakes and picnic spots.
Bags pulled over their heads
and fires lit to smoke out
information. Electric circuits turned
on under the sun that
reflects blindingly on.
Some are doing their jobs:
securing days of butterflies
and blue skies for
their children and their children’s
children. And some of course
are quite
mad. Somewhere a mother lifts
a hand to shade her eyes to look and
look again
down the long dusty street
for a son that will never
arrive again.
