"Overtake my soul" by Edmund Meyer

Overtake my soul

No, the world makes no sense
Full of regret, full of pain, full of death

My eyes smouldering bright
burning with fear
burning with hate
burning with the tears of tomorrow

The world about to end
I fall to my knees and ask for forgiveness

The ending wails of that siren’s song
The witches hum
with their toil and trouble,
cauldron and bubble
as they advance to me

Overtake my soul
trade it in for two
Cut out my heart
burnt to the crisp and filled with the lies
Filled with the sin, all to save that damsel in distress

Gun to my head
bullet so light
Emotion kept tight

The trigger pulled
the blackness I feed with the skin I need
And blood that flows
to the ground below
where it flows like a snake through grass
Splitting at the corners
joining the mourners to this thing we call life

Overtake my soul
trade it in for two
Cut out my heart
burnt to the crisp and filled with the lies
Filled with the sin, all to save that damsel in distress

C’mon baby join me for one last dance
let us forget it all
Take my hand and do the two-step
I’ll make you trip and fall, but no worries
the end’s upon us
So let’s do the two-step
and grace earth with this final dance

Reflect upon your past
Do you see the flashes before your eyes?
The dice has been cast
Make ready to say your final goodbyes

But take my hand and do the two-step
I’ll make you trip and fall, but no worries
the end’s upon us
So let’s do the two-step
and grace earth with this final dance
