Mr Season

When Fall comes along you're like a tree that leaves
Left me as a widow in my weaves

Let's get even
I cannot comprehend this
Mr Season
I have to find my bliss

You've been all around the world
so many times I have been told
Winter is the time that you would part

It’s so cold and lonely on my own
my skin and bones and heart of stone
While you're of in search of summer in the far

Spring is here, but not my bloom
I feel surrounded by a lot of room

Let's get even
You left me so defenceless
I won't be beaten
Don't want your picket fences

You've left flowers on my porch
I left them in the sun to scorch
Found forgiveness as I threw them in the trash

I cared not for the question “when?”
As time would pass you'd come again
Whole, I am a phoenix from the ash

You came knocking on the door
Found you kneeling on the floor

Let's get even
Teach you the word “rejected”
This is Stephen
not what you expected

Didn't think that things would change
Well, seasons are so strange
You knew that you no longer had your hold

You thought that I would wait
but meet the Lady Fate
Tell me how it feels out in the cold

Everything has a reason in the end
Seasons teach a lesson, it’s change, my friend
