Previously known for his part in the hip hop group Entity, Keirnan Jordan Forbes has gone his own way, allowing the spotlight to shine on the solo career he foresaw. Now better known as AKA, he has been dubbed the king of South African hip hop!
In September 2011 the now 25-year old released his debut album, Altar Ego, which features hits like “I want it all”, “Victory Lap” and “All I know”.
Since then he has had numerous hits, of which his latest, "Kontrol", currently holds the number one position on four major radio stations in South Africa. You will also remember him for the club single "Jealousy", which hit #1 on 5FM.

As an upcoming artist that showed great potential, the two times SAMA winner was featured on the MTV Base Brand New Artist show in December 2010.
AKA has a string of impressive gigs to his name. He was the supporting act for Neyo earlier this year, also warmed the stage for Khanye West, and has performed with D'Banj. AKA performed alongside Kid Cudi and won the Metro FM Best Pop Single at the same damn time.
Wanna write for him? AKA is defying all hip hop conventions to support an aspiring rap lyricist in making a dream come true. Even though it's not generally accepted to have someone else write your rhymes, AKA is looking for someone whose words will inspire him.
