"Midnight Letter" by Vernonique Jane Meyer

Midnight Letter

I’m staring at this notebook page
I wonder if I’ll feel the same
Time is against us here
and you are slowly slipping away

I’m hoping that this letter would explain
the reason why I never could attain
the words that truly held meaning to me
So now here I am, off again
wondering if this will ever end

CHORUS:
An empty soul lost at sea
I’ve never really been one to deal
with words of love and promised things
That is just not my design
My words are all the heart you’ll ever find
Goodnight midnight flowered sky
It’s time to say goodbye

The room it fills with dark moonlight air
and it turns your mind into despair
Looking for answers inside yourself
But how could you know that my heart
that it was always laced with doubt
But I do not wish to turn you into who you aren’t

CHORUS

And as we die, old grains of sand
We fly off to a merry land
Forming from our lessons learned
And dreams and things are never burned

And I am just an empty soul at sea
Seeking to speak words of promised things
Adjusting from my own design

An empty soul lost at sea
I’ve never really been one to deal
with words of love and promised things
That is just not my design
My words are all the heart you’ll ever find It’s time to say goodbye
Goodbye, midnight sky

A letter sealed with all your love
I leave it on the tabletop
and lastly kiss those lonely eyes
