Letters from the stars

As the Earth turns her back on the Sun once again
Probably over something we could never understand
There's an amber glow where their horizons part
Lord Sun's last attempt to win Lady Earth's heart

As their bastard children look at the situation from afar
Starstruck little eyes crying light into the dark
Contemplating supernova
Home alone again
No one to call family
and no one to call friend

Planet Earth goes for a stroll with a stranger from France
Le Moon is his name and he loves to dance
But behind every shadow there's a trick up his sleeve
He seduces the Earth with every passing eve
And at the end of the night when the darkness is done
Shining Knight Sun comes to save her from the fun
To rescue his beloved princess from her fatal mistake
Le Moon, the Frenchman, turned out to be fake

And as their bastard children look at the situation from afar
Starstruck little eyes crying light into the dark
Contemplating supernova
Home alone again
No one to call family
and no one to call friend
How long could the papers take
For their parents' universal divorce?
Where will they go and scatter themselves
Where will they be forced?

As the day progresses, Earth's temper will heat up
and soon it will be time for Sunny's next trip
Once again he'll be cheated by a villain called Le Moon
Once again he'll have to save the Earth from her certain doom
and the mistress of Le Moon
Will return to Husband Sun with dismay
The bastards of their Marriage
Grow more confused everyday
Their starstruck eyes
Contemplating supernova
But they will have to wait this time
Until time is over
