Let that Rain Fall

Walking down the street
Focused on my own things
I pass a homeless man
clutching a cup who claims he sings
He said, “Excuse me son, I don’t mean to take up your time”
but could you help me with this problem of mine?”
He continued on
“I’ve got nothing but the clothes on my back
Somewhere I went wrong and fell off track”
“Could you help me out with some spare change?”
“I’ve got a family, sir, for whom I must provide”
“Anything you give could help us survive”
Then he looked at me and said
“Sir, I’m trying”
But I just walked right by him

CHORUS:
This human brain
is something that I can’t explain
How do we feel no compassion?
Someone send the rain
It seems that first flood did nothing at all
So let that rain fall

It’s been a long day
I’ve got take out planned
I’m stopped by a starving kid
With out-stretched hands
He said “Excuse me sir, I haven’t eaten in a while”
Somehow he still managed to smile
“I’ll show you a magic trick in exchange for some food”
I didn’t pay much attention ‘cause I wasn’t in the mood
I said, “Sorry kid, I’m not buying”
then walked into the café behind him

CHORUS
