Knight in Rusted Armour

There was a girl
she graced the world
She stopped my heart
locked it inside that butterfly
Oh, so high in the sky

Then came the boy
she thought to be Troy

The years passed by
she did’t know why
but she felt it from afar
The lost butterfly
oh, so high in the sky

I found myself thinking all the time
Why him?

The clouds at bay
My skin crawls to the cold of the night
of the future of that relationship staged by Troy

Then the day came he shot her butterfly right out of the sky
The rain I saw from afar
In the distance the mourning came
joined by my heartache it felt too

How to make the pain less?
A joke, a smile for the delicate hearted girl?

I got the courage to speak
the courage to let that butterfly go
So I spoke to the girl
only to be stopped by the boy I knew as evil Troy

She thought he had changed
helpless I watched as he stole her away
Locked away in his tower, she thought it all was okay
but heavens knew the judgment of this perfect girl

They foretold of what was to come
a repeat of the past
But this time, oh, so fast

I saw the story foretold
how she cried once more
Her flaming long hair
soaked by the tears
But this time Troy no more

He forgot her life
joined back his army
and climbed onto his high horse

She rose out of the puddle to join her friends
For comfort
For love
Acceptance

So I waited for a chance
but always too shy to ask
Will you go out with me
This knight in rusted armour?
