"Keys" by Danielle Biggs

Keys

My head’s a home to ghosts and witches
who, in the first place, didn’t choose to be there
They’re locked in, but I hold the key
It remains my choice to set them free

My friends, we all hold this position
The power of the mind to choose happiness within

So take heed, take heed, my fellow young soul
Let go of the guilt of hurting him
Forget about the mistakes you’ve made
and unwind your twisted existence

We best be careful of how we pray
asking for tomorrow to be better than today
Instead we should ask for the strength to use our key
because happiness is available to you and to me

So, let me learn
Let me learn
Let me learn from where I’ve been
Let me learn
Let me learn
Let me learn, come and join me

I’ve used the key I’ve been given
I’ve banished those ghosts and them witches
Then I threw it away, at least for today
Join me and do the same

So, let us learn
Let us learn
Let us learn from where we've been
Let us learn
Let us learn
Let us learn, to be free
