"I want what I can't get" by Willem Bevredig

I want what I can’t get

Inspired by stories of sailors, not sailing for merchandise
I would venture the seven seas, my love, I would do it twice
Let the wind set the pace, using love to navigate
For the moon is too inconstant, coming up too late

But an explorer wouldn’t search for something that is found
The challenge to get there is to what his heart is bound

I want what I can’t get
Don’t love me just yet

Solving a chess game can take all night
I would sit a week for you, just to get it right
My opponent would judge me for my constant stare
But if this game means I win you, I won’t care

But I can’t play a game that’s already won
The art of winning is what keeps me going on

I want what I can’t get
Don’t love me just yet
