"Hotel Lonely" by Nona Ross

Hotel Lonely

You need a place to stay?
Hotel Lonely, Hotel Lonely
No board and meals to pay
Hotel Lonely, Hotel Lonely

You can stay there forever and be alone
Leave a sign on your head, not home
If you want you can stay in your bed
with only misery up in your head

You can hide away under the covers
clutch your pillow as if you were lovers
Or you could be on your way
and move out of Hotel Lonely today

CHORUS:
Checking out of Hotel Lonely today
Checking out of Hotel Lonely today
Checking out of Hotel Lonely today

But you can always move out, and be on your way
by checking out, by shortening your stay
You can be on the way home
by choosing not to be alone
Out of Hotel Lonely today

CHORUS

Blast all bad thoughts out of your head
Dig even deeper for the good times instead
Remember though, if you want to be down
The hottest place to find in this town
Is Hotel Lonely, Hotel Lonely

You don’t even have to look very far
You don’t even need a map or a car
You could just feel sorry for yourself
and pretend there is nowhere else
but Hotel Lonely for you

CHORUS:
Checking out of hotel lonely (x3)
That’s the best thing you can do

Checking out of hotel lonely today (x3)
Only you can choose

CHORUS (x2):
Checking out of hotel lonely (x3)
That’s the best thing you can do

Kommentaar

  • This song has a tune worked out for it.

I wrote it just after my divorce.

The words and mental instruction in it got me out of

self pity and onto the road of creativity again.

So if feeling lost and down read it and think twice.

    Regards

    Nona
