Have you ever?
Have you ever wondered, what if you were not
This morning, in the body that you got
No longer favourite of your mother
Just an ordinary, someone other
Maybe a simple chap, not one to raise a flap
Nothing fancy in your life, an uncomplicated sap
Not concerned with things that make others boil
The sort who won’t allow a perfect day to spoil
Someone who can watch a butterfly take up station
On a stretched out finger, without any irritation
Who is immune to all the stress and strain around
Who can revel in the subtle joys that abound
Well, just for today, take on that very skin
With sparkling eyes and a thrust out chin
Let yourself be rolled along, tossed here and there
No hand on the steering, a soul without care
For while it’s true there is much to do
There are those who manage just to muddle through
Pretend it’s your chance to ignore the strife
And cruise serenely, just enjoying your life
