Going with the paces
I saw you across the road
We were nine years old,
We used to climb some trees,
Grazing all our knees,
Stepping back in time I see,
How things between us used to be,
Best friends, turned into enemies,
And it’s funny how I sit, and reminisce,
Do you do the same,
Are we something that you miss?
I wonder how we got this twisted,
Making up we both resisted,
Passing time, I guess we missed it,
Friends becoming strangers
La la la la la
We both went through silly phases,
La la la la la
Life brings with it changes
La la la la la
Going with the paces
La la la la la
Do you look back on the days,
when we used to play
In your mother’s backyard,
Building wooden go-carts,
Drawing on old postcards,
Was it just a charade
When we were much younger,
Before things began to fade
Friends becoming strangers
La la la la la
We both went through silly phases,
La la la la la
Life brings with it changes
La la la la la
Going with the paces
La la la la la
