"Give in" by Carla Le Grange

Walking down the alley, people passing by
With searching souls and piercing eyes they search the skies
Already seen redemption through all this hurt and lies
As feelings come and feelings go, Death seems to smile

But just like that it hit me again: the thing you feel when you want to give in

Standing in the darkness with your fist held high
Telling me I'm worthless and that I'm still just a child
But I buried all those secrets in the corners of my mind
As tears fall down an empty face, there's nowhere left to hide

But just like that it hit me again: the thing you feel when you want to give in

Saying: I'm no good and I'm not brave
I’m just a little girl stuck in this world I hate
Now I’m lying here and lying there
Never knowing if you ever cared

And though it hurts so much you lose your breath
You lose control and all that’s left

I’m sorry...

Walking down the alley, people passing by
Standing in the darkness with your fist held high
With every buried secret and all those smothered cries
Smiling Death and open streets, in whom can I confide?
All grown up or just a child?
Nowhere left to hide
